Trusted Access Terms
The terms that govern your use of the Trusted Access feature within LifeKeep.
These Trusted Access Terms ("Terms") govern your use of the Trusted Access feature within LifeKeep. LifeKeep is operated by Empowered Dynamics FZ-LLC ("LifeKeep", "we", "our", or "us"). By granting, accepting or using Trusted Access, you agree to these Terms, together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Purpose of Trusted Access
Trusted Access allows you to give selected people access to specific areas of your LifeKeep account. Trusted Access is designed to help individuals and households maintain continuity by allowing important information to be shared with trusted people when appropriate.
Trusted Access is intended to support organisation, preparedness and continuity. It is not a legal authority, guardianship arrangement, power of attorney, executor appointment or emergency response service.
2. Your responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- Choosing who receives Trusted Access
- Selecting which Buckets are shared
- Choosing the level of access granted
- Deciding whether access is permanent or temporary
- Reviewing Trusted Access arrangements regularly
LifeKeep cannot determine whether a person is appropriate to receive access.
3. Invitation process
When you grant Trusted Access, LifeKeep will send an invitation to the email address you provide. The recipient must accept the invitation before access becomes active.
Until accepted, no shared information is accessible, invitations may be cancelled, and access is not active. Invitation links may expire for security reasons.
4. Accepting Trusted Access
Recipients may need to create a LifeKeep account if they do not already have one, verify their identity, and accept the invitation.
By accepting Trusted Access, recipients agree to use the shared information responsibly and only for its intended purpose.
5. Scope of access
Trusted Access only applies to the Buckets and information explicitly shared by the account owner. Recipients do not receive access to the owner's entire account, Buckets that have not been shared, future Buckets unless separately granted, or information outside the approved scope.
LifeKeep follows a principle of least privilege, meaning only the information intentionally shared is accessible.
6. Types of access
Depending on the options selected by the account owner, Trusted Access may include ongoing access, temporary access, emergency access, read-only access, or editable access (where supported). Available access options may evolve as LifeKeep develops.
7. Emergency access
Some account owners may configure Emergency Access. Emergency Access is intended to help trusted people access important information during situations where assistance may be required.
LifeKeep does not determine whether an emergency exists. We do not verify illness, incapacity, travel, family circumstances, death, or any other triggering event. The account owner remains responsible for configuring Emergency Access appropriately.
8. Temporary access
Trusted Access may be granted for a defined period. Where an expiry date is configured, access automatically ends when the period expires, and the recipient can no longer access shared information unless access is renewed.
9. Managing Trusted Access
Account owners may add trusted people, remove trusted people, change Bucket access, modify access duration, and revoke access at any time. Changes generally take effect immediately, although brief processing delays may occur.
10. Revoking access
You may revoke Trusted Access at any time. When access is revoked, future access to shared information ends, invitations may be cancelled, and previously downloaded or copied information cannot be remotely removed.
Recipients are expected to permanently delete information that they no longer have permission to retain where appropriate.
11. Recipient responsibilities
Recipients agree to protect the confidentiality of shared information, access only information intentionally shared with them, avoid unauthorised copying or distribution, comply with applicable laws, and respect the privacy of the account owner.
Recipients must not attempt to gain access to other Buckets, bypass LifeKeep security controls, misuse shared information, impersonate another person, or share their own account credentials.
12. Privacy
Trusted Access only shares information intentionally selected by the account owner. LifeKeep does not automatically expose additional information beyond the permissions granted. Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Notifications
LifeKeep may notify account owners and recipients about Trusted Access events, including invitations sent, invitations accepted, invitations declined, access revoked, access expiring, and significant changes to access permissions. These notifications help maintain transparency and account security.
14. Availability
We aim to provide Trusted Access reliably. However, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Access may occasionally be affected by maintenance, software updates, network issues, technical failures, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
15. No legal or fiduciary relationship
Using Trusted Access does not create a legal agency relationship, a fiduciary duty, a power of attorney, executor status, guardianship, or legal authority over another person's affairs. Trusted Access is solely a technology feature that enables controlled information sharing.
16. Limitation of responsibility
LifeKeep is not responsible for the actions of trusted recipients, decisions made using shared information, disputes between users, inaccurate or outdated information uploaded by users, or information retained by recipients before access is revoked.
Users remain responsible for their Trusted Access decisions and the information they choose to share.
17. Suspension of Trusted Access
We may suspend or disable Trusted Access where reasonably necessary to protect the security of LifeKeep, investigate suspected fraud, comply with legal obligations, prevent misuse of the Services, or protect other users. Where practical, we will notify affected users.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these Trusted Access Terms from time to time. If material changes are made, we will provide reasonable notice through the LifeKeep app, website or email where appropriate. Continued use of Trusted Access after those changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
